FREQUENTLY AND NOT SO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS...
1. What if I get lost or need to edit my order while navigating the site?
If you click on the logo at the top of each page in the store, it'll take you back to the home page. If you'd like to make a change or correct a mistake, there are a couple of ways to do this. One way is to just hit the back button on your browser. The other way is to click on the "Basket Contents" link at the top of each page in the store. From there, you will see what you have put in your shopping cart so far and you can either change the number of each item ordered or delete an item.
2. Some of the pictures of the maps of geographic areas, like VFR sectionals could be clearer. What's up with that?
We are working on that. NOS doesn't have good digital pictures to use, and scanning and resizing so that you don't need an EFC time for the picture to load in your browser reduces the clarity some. We will try to get it done better.
4. Do you stock charts, or am I going to have to wait for an eternity to get my order?
We stock every NOS product except Airport Obstruction Charts, so your order should ship the same day we get it. If your pants are on fire, you can select different shipping methods, like Express Mail (see FAQ # 5 below for important information about Express Mail), which is the Postal Service's excellent overnight delivery service (even on Sundays, for most of the conterminous US of A. (Who invented that word - conterminous- anyway?). Occasionally, we run out of an item, in which case we'll let you know that there may be a slight delay. We may even suggest you visit one of our competitors or we might order it from a competitor and have it shipped directly to you, at no additional cost. As for NIMA products, we stock many of the most popular items, like Global Navigation Charts, but not every single item that NIMA produces. NOS items such as Airport Obstruction Charts, and other NIMA items may take up to ten days to arrive.
5. Speaking of shipping, please explain Vrotate.com's policy...
We try to charge as close to the 1st class mail cost for your package weight as we can. If your order's shipping
cost exceeds $3.20, the delivery method will automatically be upgraded from 1st to Priority Class. (What a swell
bunch of guys at the US Post Office, eh? However, we're told that "Priority" is just a fancy name for
First Class.). As an example, depending on the type, a single chart might cost between $.77 and $1.27 on average.
Ten charts mailed with priority status should cost about $3.70. Compare that with what other merchants charge,
and you'll see how the savings are tremendous.
As for Express Mail, most of the time orders received early enough in the day can be processed and shipped to arrive
the next day. However, WE DO NOT GUARANTY OVERNIGHT DELIVERY. EXPRESS MAIL ORDERS MAY TAKE AS LONG AS TWO DAYS
TO REACH YOU. EXPRESS MAIL ORDERS REC'D AFTER 12pm ON SATURDAY WILL NOT SHIP UNTIL THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY.
6. How do you select what gizmos to order?
We read all the magazines and periodicals and try to anticipate what we think are items that pilots would like and that we can offer at discounted prices. Many manufactureres won't let dealers sell below their recommended retail prices (boo, hiss), so we don't bother with those guys. We don't want to put Sporty's out of business (primarily 'cause we haven't won that airplane yet), but we do think there is room in this world for competitive pricing and service.
7. Are credit card transactions processed on a secure server?
Yes they are. For orders sent via fax, we require your credit card number as well, but nobody except our order processing department has access to incoming faxes.
8. How do subscriptions work?
Please click on the subscription link from the Home Page menu for information on subscriptions.
